As well as eliminating the need for walls, the Tang replaced heavily-armed forces with a light cavalry. The Tang, a dynasty that had some [G 14 / nomadic] roots, was more [L3 203 / acceptable] to the nomads than other dynasties. The rulers were not, however, completely successful in eliminating the outside threat. Beginning with an uprising in AD875, the empire slowly began to fall.
